How does caffeine affect blood pressure?
I usually don’t drink caffeine that much but yesterday I had a huge Monster energy drink. The one that has 3 servings. Of course I was really hyper, but later on in the day, I still felt wired and when I went from sitting to standing, I almost blacked out. Usually that only happens when I have low blood pressure, but I thought energy drinks increased blood pressure? What was happening? And also my hands were shaking extremely bad and when I was standing, my legs were shaking.

yes the drinks are meant to increase you blood pressure but after awhile your insulin starts to kick in to decrease the extra amount of sugar in your blood.so your blood sugar drops low which makes you feel tired and weak.

Caffeine raises blood pressure. It sounds more likely that you had very high blood sugar. Those drinks are notorious for having WAY too much sugar in them.

I’m actually in a medical trial right now that tests the effects of a certain medication on blood pressue and I’m not allowed to have any caffeine because it might screw up the results.

    Monster is bad for you
    Try Crave Energy Drink.
I like it because it’s packed with vitamins and doesn’t give me a CRASH. There’s only 9 calories, 1.5 carbs, and 1 gram of sugar.
It comes in a convenient little pack, just mix with water or other beverage.

    PLUS, it’s affordable :)

I get it online at http://lucdespres.cravedrink.com from my good friend Luc.
