http://curehighbloodpressurenaturally.info is a website that deals with curing high blood pressure naturally through breathing exercises. There’s been research proving that if you can use your own breathing to calm yourself down and de-stress, you can successfully lower your blood pressure. It’s great for people who don’t want to take drugs or be on medicines for the rest of their life.

How does garlic lower high blood pressure and cholesterol?
What Biological/ Physiological mechanism does garlic have that improves High blood pressure and Lower Cholesterol?

Garlic is NO substitute for medical attention when it comes to high blood pressure or any other medical condition. If you suffer from or suspect you suffer from high blood pressure, it is important that you see your doctor.

That said garlic has quite a reputation for helping people control blood pressure. Research shows that garlic may in fact reduce diastolic and systolic blood pressure!

“In a study, when people with high blood pressure were given one clove of garlic a day for 12 weeks, their diastolic blood pressure and cholesterol levels were significantly reduced. Eating quantities as small as one clove of garlic a day was found to have beneficial effects on managing hypertension.”(1)

Various studies on garlic have shown benefits for many other disorders such as cancer, immune problems and diabetes. Many people believe garlic is the end-all cure for just about anything including the common cold.

So how does one actually consume one raw clove of garlic a day? It’s easier than you think. Here are some suggestions:

Finely minced a clove and sprinkle on your salad
Mix with cold pasta and vegetables
Use as a dip with hot bread. Mix olive oil, spices and garlic
Mix with mayo and use on your next sandwich
Just use your imagination….
Of course, if you are unable to consume raw garlic you can always take the garlic pills. Although raw is always better.

So what exactly does garlic do?

“Garlic dilates the muscles of blood vessels, which helps in lowering blood pressure. It consists of a compound called adenosine, which helps in vasodilation and is also a muscle relaxant. Although, both raw and cooked garlic can benefit blood pressure, raw garlic is more potent and benefits faster. Garlic also interferes with the formation of blood clots and helps in reducing cholesterol. It not only helps lower the risk of colon, gastro intestinal tract and stomach cancers but also improves immunity and prevents gas formation.” (3)

“It appears, according to research that the beneficial effects of garlic on blood pressure come more from the garlic sulphides than from allicin. Unlike allicin, garlic sulphides are not destroyed by cooking.”(2)

A study from Stanford University casts doubt on the effectiveness of garlic to lower LDL (low density lipoprotein) cholesterol levels in adults with moderately high cholesterol. LDL cholesterol is widely known as "bad cholesterol," and is believed to be a leading contributor to heart disease.

Christopher Gardner, Ph.D., and colleagues conducted a randomized, placebo-controlled trial studying whether three different formulations of garlic could lower LDL cholesterol. The study participants were randomly divided into four groups to receive raw garlic, a powdered garlic supplement, an aged extract supplement, or a placebo.

The 169 participants who completed the study had their cholesterol levels checked monthly for the duration of the 6-month trial. None of the formulations of garlic had a statistically significant effect on the LDL cholesterol levels.

The authors caution that these results should not be generalized for all populations or all health effects. An accompanying editorial in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine points out that LDL cholesterol levels are only one factor contributing to heart disease, and that this trial did not investigate garlic’s effects on other risk factors, such as high blood pressure.

You should read some articles in the medical journal and you mmight find other pertinent infomration in regards to your concern or you can ask your physician who is an even more reliable source.

I just took our blood pressure on one of the little automatic home monitors, honestly, I have been trying to find it because I was a bit worried about him.

He’s 58, over 6ft, not overweight, he’s usually a bit breathless on exertion (smoker), but he’s started having some headaches lately, and saying it’s too hot when I don’t think it’s hot in the house, so I was wondering about his heart and his blood pressure and I hunted down the monitor.

It measured me at 110/62 (I’m 40 and female) but it measured him at 116/107 - that diastolic is way too high isn’t it? I know he’s older and older people do have higher diastolic pressure, but I didn’t think he was really old enough for it to be that high.

At 58 (drinker/smoker) it this real bad at his age or just a bit high and something we could cure with lifestyle changes?

Thank you.

A difference of 9 mm Hg from the systolic (116) to the diastolic (107) blood pressure suggests an erroneous reading. There is only one medical study that I know of which compared various over-the-counter blood pressure units against a mercury weighted blood pressure unit. The 2 which displayed the most consistent accuracy and reproducibility were the Omron and the ReliOn. Consumer Reports rated the ReliOn as a ‘Best Buy’ as it is less expensive. Bear in mind that we have no data on wrist units only on blood pressure units that are applied to the upper arm. If I may be of further assistance please let me know. I wish you both the very best of health and in all things may God bless.

A friend of mine was told he has Moderate to High levels of Protein in his urine. He went in to the doctor specifically because of the symptom of "Foamy Urine".

He is in generally good health.

°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º° ø¤º°`°º¤ø °º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º° ø¤º°`°º¤ø
? He is overweight but not obese.

? He has high blood-pressure that is 95% under control.
His doctor gave him a short term prescription for an additional blood pressure medication because it was high when he went in a few days ago and then told him that he would see him in a month to check his symptoms again and do some more blood work.

? He has no history of unprotected sex with unknown partners.
He has only had 1 sexual partner in the last few years and that was my aunt that contracted Hepatitis A or B from a blood transfusion back in the late 1990’s.

? He has never done any drugs… I don’t think he has even tried Marijuana.

? He doesn’t drink alcohol, well, he has about 2 beers or glasses of wine a year.

? He has anxiety and depression that he refuses to get treated.

? He eats out a lot and knows he eats too much meat.

? The doctor ruled out diabetes.
°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º° ø¤º°`°º¤ø °º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º° ø¤º°`°º¤ø

My friend is FREAKING OUT thinking that he has, like, renal failure and I’m trying to get some hard data on Proteinuria.

From what I’ve read, the causes can be anything from just eating too much meat combined with the heat wave all the way to ‘You have AIDS’.

He has been under a lot of stress in general due to his high pressure job and family concerns like paying for college for his two girls, alimony, house payments, the IRS, etc. He has rather severe depression and anxiety but refuses to get that treated because… Well… Because he is male and therefore kinda’ retarded.

The heat has been HORRIBLE for the last week or two and that has hit him hard.

His doctor is a really good doctor (My father goes to him as well) and I keep telling him that if his doctor thought he was about to die from renal failure or a kidney tumor etc. he wouldn’t have been sent home with 30 days worth of extra pills and an appointment for a month from now.

I know I’m going on but I want you to know everything because my friend is REALLY worried and that caused him to not sleep last night and have anxiety today…

ANY advice for him would be greatly appreciated.

your correct in what you have learned so far. here’s the thing. your friend is now worried, it’s only going to make him worry more the more he reads up on this. so my advise is to let him speak to the physician again about his concern and what he can do to be proactive about it. when he see’s him in a month, that’s the opportunity, and should not be wasted, advise your friend to eat healthy, and to drink water. maybe don’t overdo it on the protein consumption. and stop worrying. practically nobody is perfect in the lab values in all areas does no good to obsess over it.

My dad was recently not allowed to donate blood because, when he went onto the bus, they said his blood pressure was high. However, when he went to the doctor the next day, he said his blood pressure was fine. I know it may have varied between the two days, though it seems unlikely. This made me wonder, do blood donation centers have stricter limitations on what they accept from donors than what a doctor would consider to be in the healthy range? I know that they require iron levels above what is considered healthy, so does this extend to blood pressure as well?

Current FDA guidelines require that systolic BP measure less than 180 mmHg and diastolic measure less than 100 mmHg for volunteer blood donation. These readings are generally less restrictive than what most physicians consider acceptable. There are many reasons to explain the transient increase in blood pressure. Stress associated with driving, work, etc cold have increased his readings. Also, many people experience "white coat hypertension"; their BP increases in anticipation of a needle stick or physical exam. Most collection facilities will allow the donor to relax for a while and retake the readings. Thank your father for his kindness in attempting to donate, and please ask him to try again.

What is the best recommended blood pressure on the market? I need a blood pressure really accurate.

My daughter also has high blood pressure and she tried several blood pressure devices. So far I think that the best home blood pressure is the : Omron HEM-780 Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor
With 901 reviews on amazon and close to 5 stars you can’t go wrong. My daughter got it since last year and her readings are as accurate that what she gets from the doctor office.

As some of you know, I am an RN, who now does health counseling and coaching by phone. I frequently speak to people who choose not to take the medications prescribed to them for conditions like high blood pressure and high cholesterol, preferring to take natural/herbal remedies or supplements. Although I am certainly more knowledgeable about Western medicine, I have no problem with other treatments, wherever they may originate, as long as they actually work. I am getting more familiar with certain substances, like cinnamon and red rice yeast (or maybe it’s red yeast rice?), but recently had a patient sing the praises of food-grade diatomaceous earth, for either blood pressure or cholesterol treatment. Does anyone have any knowledge of this, used to treat medical conditions? I did some online searching, but mostly found gardening or insect control info, and the food-grade info was limited to sites that sold the stuff, so not exactly unbiased material.

Thanks,
Katherine

While looking for a ‘natural’ way of flea and parasite control, I’ve been doing a pretty ‘in depth’ study of the ‘food grade’ diatomaceous earth.

For ingestion by either human or animal, the FOOD GRADE is the most important thing to remember here. There are ‘lesser’ grades for treating the lawn, treating building perimeters and for swimming pool filters.

Now, I’m a ‘naturalist’, more interested in the ‘prevention’ rather the ‘chemical cures’ of today’s medicine. Just seeing the list of ’side effects’ listed on each drug on the market is frightening.

I’ve been really impressed with the pureness of diatomaceous earth…and what I’ve found really makes sense.

WHAT IF diseases like cancer are actually the result of some type of parasite infestation? It’s possible, seeing the quality of the foods we buy and the ‘recalls’ of beef and other products that are found to be unfit, unhealthy or containing salmonella, melamine or other harmful ingredients…both sickening and killing people and pets…

The ‘food grade’ diatomaceous earth is a pure and natural product of the sea…ground fossils. Although, to the touch, it feels like a very soft powder, to the insect or parasite, it is like ‘walking/crawling over ground glass’. It cuts into their skin and kills them.

Considering the cost of Frontline for flea/tick control on our cats and dog…$122.00…(which made 5 of my pets extremely sick for 2 days) and the cost of insect control for lawns and the veggie garden…the DE is a bargain. I just received an order, 2, 5 lb. bags for $28. including shipping.

I have been ‘powdering’ the cats and dog (carpet and pet bedding) and the flea population is nearly zero. The ‘bonus’ is, when the cats ‘groom’ they are ingesting it and being cleansed of any parasites like tapeworm, etc.

Large cattle farms add DE to their grain/feed, not only keeping the feed free of insects but curing any internal problems caused by fly eggs, etc.

Personally, I haven’t started sprinkling it on my oatmeal yet…LOL…but, with a little more research, I might <:O)

It may be a ’stretch’ to say ingesting DE will control blood pressure and/or cholesterol UNLESS it can be proven that these health issues can be traced back to parasite infestation in the blood stream, affecting the heart, clogging and narrowing the arteries, etc. What about the possibility of parasites being responsible for Alzheimers and ADHD ????

It’s a very interesting study and the possibility of DE being a great preventive and cure is pretty high, but I’d like to see more research done on it, because it really makes a lot of sense. <:O) Helen

I am patient of high blood pressure for the last 22 years and now it has been observed that i have cyst in my left kidney..I shall thank , if someone can suggest the remedy either nature cure or ayurvedic or homeopath and suggest good diet to keep kidneys healthy..I am pure veg no drink, no smoke.

Why do you want to treat it when it doesn’t bother you?
Kidney cysts dont need any treatment unless they are very large and cause problems. Incidentally, they can’t be cured with medicines, only operation or removing the fluid with a needle (by a doctor) will give a cure.
