I quit tabacco 2.5 weeks ago. And my blood pressure is still high.
Eat oats, whole grains and more fiber in grains, fresh vegetables to reduce blood pressure
Most of the things that help to reduce blood pressure are what to avoid:
Salt - big no no and huge problem with high blood pressure
stress- try meditation and exercise
sugar - eliminate refined sugars as found in soda, candy, pre-packaged foods
tobacco - good for you, keep going!
alcohol - limit to one drink a day
fried, fatty foods
avoid trans fats

Exercise more, that will have the greatest effect on BP. Reduce salt, alcohol, & coffee.

It takes a good amount of time to reverse the effects of tobacco (especially if it was in a cigarette). Exercise, fiber, whole grains, green leafy vegetables, low salt, little to no alcohol. Basically you want to lower your cholesterol, but again these kinds of bodily changes take time so you have to stick with it. Also make sure you are finding a healthy way to manage your stress. Talk to your doctor about how you should change your diet (diet does not equal a two or three week stint to lose a few pounds, its a person’s actual eating habits).
