Anyone know of techniques to lower high blood pressure?
- I’m a 20 year old male
- I don’t smoke and rarely drink
- I’m not overweight, 6′0” 172 lbs
I took my blood pressure the other day at a CVS and it was a little high. It’s always been like this, but I don’t want it to get out of hand.
Don’t drink anything, especially not beer. The yeast in the beer, combined with the alcohol, will raise your blood pressure. As far as foods, limit the salt in your diet.
And, exercise regularly. Moderate exercise will help lowe it as well.
Also, find out if your parents/grandparents have high bp. If they do, it’s a good chance that yours may end up that way too, so it’s a good idea to catch it early.

I have high blood pressure too. If you are not overweight and have it all of the time then it is genetic. You may have to take the big step and go on medicine, however do not worry it will make your life better. I used to have headaches and be lazy, and it was all due to the HBP. Now I take the medicine, one pill when I wake up everyday and I am totally relaxed and happy. Plus now that I take it like a routine it is no big deal, like remembering to brush your teeth it is just part of life now. It is also good since it forces me to get out of bed to take it.

Stay away from processed food. it has high salt. SALT is the enemy. Use salt substitute (johnnysalt seasoning) Eat fresh fruit vegs. bake broil boil steam meat. The thing is fries, stuff in a box you make(mac+cheese, cake mixes, hamburgerhelper all crap and high salt) read labels. Then energy drinks have caffeine, too much cafeiine raises b/p red bulls used to send my 20yr olds thru the roof. So skip high caffeine drinks and sugary drinks. Excerise and stay hydrated (drink fluids). Avoid stressing out. But really if you take a little med for b/p so what? wheres the 911? I have been on one for 30yrs. This is 2010. don’t freakout just do what your doc says. ps go to church and pray on Sundays. i say the( 15 prayers of St. Bridget )on line
