opinions on why Marijuana trying to be legalized? this is just opinions
my opinion is it shouldn’t i have seen what it has done to my friends and family. they say its not addictive to them but i find it a load of b.s. cause i ask if they can stop for just a day and they say they can stop if they wanted to but but they don’t and they say it makes you peaceful but they become violent if they don’t get pot when they need it. and to believe to make it legal think how many kids will drop out of school will increase, think of police smoking pot on the job, think of politians passing stupid laws because they are so high that they don’t even know what they are looking at. also no one has become famousd for smoking pot except bob marley and potheads use him as the biggest excuse for smoking pot, its only one man out of how many that smoke pot and actually make anything. people get so obsessed that they made a religion out of him even though he prays to god. also the drug over time makes you less and less happy because the chemicals going through your body become less and causing you to find things less entertaining. well i can go on forever with all the side effects pot causes and it doesnt make you better at stuff. like when you right a song while high and it sounds great its what your mind knew its not like it came out of nowhere and popped in your brain but your too lazy to think for yourself to do the work and rely on pot which makes you addicted because you dont want to think. you can do the same without pot. also if they do legalize it they will tax the hell out of it and put nicotine in it to make sure everyone that tries it stays addicted to it. but they won’t tell you that.
some other stuff to add
the Senate panel’s support for pot legalization. Did they all get high before the meeting? One would think so with their latest report that recommends marijuana be legalized. It should not. Here’s why. Marijuana is a harmful substance. It is more addictive than cigarettes and more hazardous to one’s health. It damages brain cells and makes users go psycho. The side effects are not worth the intake since they have long-lasting dangerous consequences to the puffer, no matter how much pain it takes away. It’s a deadly painkiller and one that should never be made legal. It takes no rocket scientist to figure that out. Also, in a country that seems to be banning smoking everywhere to discourage people from starting, does it really make sense to legalize marijuana? Just look at the graphic warnings and other proposed methods of discouraging smoking. It seems to me like we are going from tobacco to pot and I don’t like it at all. So smarted up Canada! Or else we can expect the maple leaf to be replaced with cannabis while the potheads smoke away every other thing that has made our country special. Specifically, you assert that marijuana’s potential health hazards are ”on a par with those of tobacco and alcohol.” Is this an attempt to legitimize the use of marijuana by playing down the adverse effects of tobacco and alcohol? If so, it must be pointed out that smoking remains the single most preventable cause of disease in the United States. Moreover, the most widely abused drug with the gravest public health implications (e.g., vehicular accidents, homicides, suicides) continues to be alcohol. These two substances contribute to the premature death of more than a half-million Americans every year. As for marijuana, scientific studies clearly establish a number of negative health consequences associated with its use. For example, marijuana smoke contains even more carcinogens and lung irritants than does tobacco. In the short term, marijuana can disrupt thinking, learning and remembering. High doses can cause hallucinations and create anxiety. Marijuana use leads to as much as a 50 percent short-term increase in heart rate, can decrease the blood supply to the heart and cause chest pains. It affects glands and hormones involved in reproduction and may impair sexual development, fertility and functioning. Pregnant women who use marijuana increase their risk of producing serious development problems in their offspring as do those who use alcohol heavily during pregnancy. Because the psychoactive ingredients in marijuana are fat soluble, they are retained in the fatty cells of the liver, lungs, reproductive system and brain for an extended period of time, making the long-term consequences of even occasional use potentially dangerous. As for the assertion that the Judge Douglas Ginsburg incident ”demonstrates anew the wide tolerance of behavior” associated with marijuana use, a poll by ABC in August 1986 found 74 percent of Americans opposed to legalizing marijuana. A recent Gallup youth poll revealed that teen-age opposition to legalization increased by 20 percent, to 88 percent, since 1979. Decriminalizing marijuana flies in the face of public opinion and, more importantly, scientific evidence of the physical damage this drug causes.
Sorry but i’m extre
okay i have seen people try to get off pot and can’t go without it. why do i have to try to say if its wrong or right. should i kill someone and find out if its wrong or right or should i instead look at the scientific fact that its extremely bad for your health. hell most guys can’t do football at my school cuz they are a bunch of potheads and if they somehow not quit they never get played. their lungs are destroyed they cant run half a mile without breathing so hard they look like they are about to collapse. and im asking for reasons too. don’j just say it should or shouldn’t be legal, explain! come on if all you got is it should be legal or smoke it obviously you have nothing. oh also the 1st paragraph was what i wrote the long stuff is all the other things others have said about the facts of pot. and it doesnt control your breathing at all, that is cigrttes which i also find gross. also ppl that smoke pot realy smell, come to my sis’s room and try and tell me doesnt smell like ****
People who abuse drugs are going to abuse something and hurt themselves - maybe alcohol, food, cigarettes, whatever. Idiots who can’t handle any responsibility will always find a way to hurt themselves.
The pot smokers I’ve known were just normal people who held down jobs and never let their smoking interfere with their daily responsibilities.
honestly, it should be legalized becaused it can relax people when they need it, but some people are imature with it so there are up and downs. and this talk abotu shooting people who smoke it, also immature. References :
it should be legal uncle sam does not want it because it is what keeps the drug war alive . but first if you have not tried it how can you condemn it. something that is less harmful than a cigarette, an less addictive yes that is a fact. try quitting smoking cigarette and see how ill you become and how fast some one will run to get a pack . it is not the same with a joint, try it u might like it, if you listen to uncle sam you will be an ax murder if you smoke it. and that is not true but its what uncle saw wants u t believe. come to your own conclusion, don’t knock it till u try it References :
